Deetu has been working closely with West Northamptonshire Council to launch the first engagement stage on the future of Greyfriars in Northampton!
The site is located in the heart of Northampton town, next to the ongoing transformation of the historic Market Square and redevelopment of the former Marks and Spencer’s and BHS units, making it an ideal location for future projects.
Collaborating with Studio Egret West, views from the public are being sought on what the future of the site could look like. As part of this process, an interactive website has been developed to showcase the history of the location and the potential it holds for the local community: https://ampnorthampton.com/
This tool is designed to boost engagement levels, and make it easier for local communities to use.
Josh Dickerson, Deetu Co-Founder and Engagement Project Lead said:
We already know that regenerating Greyfriars is immensely significant to the people of Northampton.
However, through engaging with the community and local stakeholders at this early stage, we want to hear the ideas of local people to inform the design moving forward and ensure the successful regeneration of the site.
This engagement provides an opportunity to foster genuine inclusivity and accurately represent the region, bringing the wider town along on this journey of transformation.
The project team looks forward to hearing the local communities’ vital insights on what they believe the site should be used for.
